Brief
History
"Vision In Social Arena" is an organisation,
driven by the concern and burden God gave to one man...
"Mr. John Abraham, burdened and disturbed by the hard realities of
the homeless street kids, sat for weeks at Dadar station until the first
child came to him. Within weeks along with his wife, they made their visits
with chapathis packed to have breakfast with these new found friends.
Very soon 17 children along with their 3 daughters grew up in a tiny home
at kurla, Mumbai (India), which gave rise to "Vision In Social Arena".

To Provide street children with ample opportunities to fulfill their potential.
To help street children to become change agents in society.
To challenge churches for social action.
Monthly Workshops
Volunteers get together with street children
they have met in the city. The children are bathed and provided clean
clothes.They have loads of fun together doing painting, singing, story
telling, film or puppet show and sharing a meal.The workshop serves as
a contact point development of long term relationships.

The Program:
Objectives:

• To provide systematic education.
• To provide food, cloth and shelter with all facilities.
• To guide for vocational training according to their potential.
• To provide physical care and emotional support to the street children.
• To create a family atmosphere where the children can feel comfortable
and cared for.
Activities:
• Creating homely atmosphere for
the children at home
• Sending them to Schools for the systematic education
• Finding like minded training Schools for vocational training
• Providing musical and playing articles for recreation
• Counseling in the time of need
Proposed Output:
• Children will have more choice
to live with dignitary life in the society.
• Out look of their life style will be changed.
• The number of street children will be reduced in Mumbai.
• The value of education will show them the way of earning.
• Children will have an opportunity to go to School and fulfill
the dreams.
• Emotional support to all inmates at homes.
VISA home
Today there around 40 children taking shelter
in the VISA family. The former children live under VISA's care in 3 different
homes. These children live in real homes under the care and supervision
of foster parents with all their basic needs met and limitless opportunities
opened to them. At present VISA is running with the three homes at different
location in Mira Road.
